I found these vintage cloth napkins at the thrift store a few weeks ago. I just couldn't resist bringing them home with me. The sweet winter animals were just to adorable to fold up and put away in a drawer.
I had to re-purpose them in a way that would allow me to see that darling print everyday. So I turned them into place mats.
I backed them with some red and white striped fabric from my stash.
A little bit of holiday vintage right here on my kitchen table.
And maybe I'm weird but I don't actually let anyone eat off of my place mats or tablecloth. I always take them off before every meal (please tell me I'm not the only who does this). I just would rather wipe the table clean after dinner than to have to wash my linens. It makes clean up much easier.
